WHAT'S HIDING IN YOUR FOOD?

Jan 27, 2011

So many of us have busy lives and the more conveniently and quickly we can prepare meals, the more time we have for other activities. That may be so, but are these “convenient” foods really good for us?

Fast foods are quick and may even taste good but a single fast food meal of hamburger, fries, and soda, for example, can significantly exceed the recommended daily allowance for calories, trans-fats, sodium, and sugar. Packaged and canned foods often contain chemical additives as taste-enhancers, plus excess salt and sugar.

We should be buying organically-produced fruit, vegetables, and meat products as much as possible. Non-organic fruits and vegetables can contain harmful herbicides and pesticides. In addition, because chemical fertilizers are used to grow most non-organic crops, the produce is deficient in many minerals due to soil mineral depletion. Most non-organic meat and poultry products, as well as farm-raised fish contain antibiotics and hormones—both of which significantly interfere with normal body functions and weaken immune response.

If you buy packaged and canned foods, as well as cleaning agents and personal hygiene items make a habit of reading package labels. This is so important that there is a section in my book Conscious Health devoted to this subject. Non-nutritional additives can include: neuro-toxic synthetic sweeteners, toxic cleaning chemicals, aluminum, flavor-enhancers, dyes, and preservatives.

The bottom line on product additives and non-nutritional ingredients is that “if they aren’t natural, the body can’t use them for health!” In fact, they may be outright harmful. When selecting products and reading labels, if you see items such as sugar and salt near the beginning of the ingredients listed, or chemicals, or words you can’t pronounce, put them back on the shelf. Your health depends on it, and your body will thank you for it. Overtime, these additives can lead to mineral depletion, neuro-toxic problems, hormone disruption, and eventual degenerative disease.

2010 was a very difficult year for many of us around the world with climate calamities and financial crises. ANOTHER VIEW OF CANCER

Dec 02, 2010

Ever since I began to study natural health I have been interested in understanding the mechanisms of cancer, because to date it has apparently defied understanding by the conventional medical field.

We all know that cancer can be a devastating disease and that it is rampant in our North American population. From time to time, politicians and medical authorities declare a “war on cancer.” Multi-millions of dollars are raised from the public for cancer research. However, cancer in its various forms is still on the increase. What’s wrong with this picture?

The Big FAT Lie

Apr 15, 2010

How many times have we been lied to in our lifetime? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands of times?  Most of them are small and inconsequential; they don’t really matter in the long run. But sometimes a lie can have serious and cumulative consequences—even though we have been willing, albeit naïve, participants in the deception. We wanted to believe, or we trusted the word of so-called authorities who surely know better than we do. We routinely accept opinions of financial and health advisors without doing our own due diligence. After all, they are the “experts”!

What Happened to the H1N1 Pandemic?

Mar 31, 2010

Do you remember the massive media campaign only a few months ago trying to convince us that we all need to be vaccinated against the H1N1 flu? They said we needed to do this because a huge “pandemic” was coming that threatened to kill millions of people worldwide. Well, fizzle, fizzle! It never materialized. Most people saw through this push for what it was—an attempt to scare people and make huge pharmaceutical bucks.

You Can’t Afford to Be Sick!

Mar 19, 2010

You can’t afford to be sick, and you know what? You don’t have to be!

A recent health news headline really caught my attention.  It was reported last week that the largest family debt in the U.S. is medical debt.

Believing is Healing

Feb 24, 2010

When flu season is approaching do you think that you are going to get the flu?  Are you so fearful that you rush out to get a flu shot? Do you think that you are going to get cancer because some of your relatives did?  Do you think that if you become ill, you will be able to heal yourself?  As Henry Ford said so eloquently, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”

Should You Get a Flu Shot?

Jan 18, 2010

Instead of asking yourself, or someone else, if you should get a flu shot, perhaps a more sensible question is: "Do I want to have the ingredients of a flu vaccine injected into my bloodstream?" While flu vaccines vary according to the manufacturer, the following are some typical ingredients:
