“Master, why don’t you ever tell us stories about when you were young like us too?  What were your adventures, your delights, your challenges? Who were your friends and what were they like?”

“Bizah, I don’t go to the past these days unless I need to do so. I find that I have all I need right now, here in the present moment, to teach you what I have learned and you still need to learn.”

“Also, that young boy I was no longer exists – except in memory, which can be sweet but also distorting.”

Bizah and his Master would go to the village once a week to have a special kind of tea at a small restaurant.

On one such occasion, Bizah said, “Look over there, Master. That man is very selfish.  He has eaten all the food and left his wife with none.”

“Bizah, remember you should not judge others,” said his Master.

The next week when they went to the village for their teatime, the same man and his wife were there again. Once more, the man ate all the food.

The Master said, “Look at that man, Bizah. He has eaten all the food and left his wife with none.”

Why do you suppose the human race is exhausting the Earth’s resources, polluting the land with chemicals, fouling the oceans, and dirtying the air to the point that our health is adversely affected?

Do you suppose any of this is coming from people who are conscious?
Does it seem at all enlightened to you?

Do people who recognize that they are “in the image and likeness of God” treat nature this way?

When life clouds over and there’s not a thing we can do to blow those clouds away, it can feel extremely depressing—just like the month of January is for many in the northern hemisphere due to the lack of sunshine.

At such times it may seem like life is against us instead of supportive of us. This isn’t an easy feeling to cope with.

“Master,” Bizah asked in earnest, “why is red, red? And why is blue, blue?”

“Wonderful question,” responded the Master. “The answer is because you call red, red. And you call blue, blue.”

Sometimes people report that they never experience freedom from their thoughts. Their mind just keeps going, churning and churning, repetitively turning over the same set of thoughts.

Consequently when Eckhart Tolle talks about feeling the stillness out of which thought arises, such individuals say they have no clue what he's talking about.

The oil spill off the Louisiana coast continues unabated, a testimony to what can happen when humans use the mind’s “logic” to make decisions instead of coming from higher consciousness.

The spill is a mirror of what often occurs in our individual lives, when we want something and let our mind rule us.

How many times have we told ourselves something was highly unlikely, or perhaps even impossible, only to have it happen?

There’s likely been a Gulf oil spill more than once in all our lives. I know that in mine, there have been too many to count.
