When we grow up restricting our
enjoyment, we end up plodding through our days with a kind of deadness.
Yet probably very few of us, if any,
grow up without doing this.
As we join an adult world, which
majors largely in the mediocre, life becomes mundane.
To speak of life as mundane doesn't
mean we don't achieve what people generally consider "success," such
as making money, acquiring material possessions, and climbing the social
ladder.
